We returned to the section of the Pacific Crest Trail where we turned around because of snow back in May. We did a 16-mile loop today. It was windy and cool in the morning along the ridge trail of the PCT, then a little hotter than was pleasant on the loop dropping down into the Middle Yuba River valley and the very steep climb back up to the drop. Nice views on this section of the trail, but hazy today because of smoke supposedly from wildfires in Southern California. The photo above is of Sierra Buttes from Lacey Peak, the high point of this hike.
