This is a nice, moderate snowshoe hike to a peak near Brockway Summit with a great view overlooking Lake Tahoe. This area is partly on private forest land and partly in the Tahoe National Forest, but it is generally open to winter recreation with limited parking at Martis Peak Road off Brockway Summit on California Hwy 267. As of winter 2010-11, there is a commercial snowmobile rental operation at the trailhead, but we only met snowmobiles near the rental shack.  Access to the top  is best from the north side, at a gap near the middle of the ridge.
