Labor Day weekend hike in the Lakes Basin Recreation Area, from the Jamison Mine Trailhead in the Plumas-Eureka State Park near Graeagle, California. The hike starts at the Jamison Mine historic site. The route passes Little Jamison Falls and Grass Lake, then does a loop to Wades Lake, Jamison Lake, and Rock Lake. The trails are well-marked except near the upper lakes where there are multiple confusing use trails, so a little searching for the true trail may be required. This area is the only part of the Lakes Basin Recreation Area that is open to backcountry camping.
