A hike on the ridge above the Hunter Creek Canyon, from the Michael Thompson Trailhead. This was the originally planned corridor for the Rim-to-Reno Trail, which was moved south to Thomas Creek Canyon. Ascent via fire roads and cross country, descent via unimproved ridge trail, both steep. Mostly open area except for some Mountain Mahogany thickets on the upper ridge.
