Went on a short cross-country ski run up to Tahoe Meadows with Joe. The snow was okay but not great, about 2 inches of new snow on top of hard-pack. Nice weather with views of Lake Tahoe, a little windy. Saw these traction kite skiers/snowboarders out in the meadows.

Snowshoeing with M. & S., and the neighbor’s dogs, from S. & V.’s cabin at 7200 ft on the north side of Martis Peak (gated access). It was a georgeous day, with the view above of Lassen Peak, 113 miles away (look closely at the horizon). Snowshoed through Klondike Meadow, up a single-track trail, then to a cell phone tower about 700 feet below the lookout. Better view than last time on Martis Peak! From the cell towers, we headed straight down the mountain through the woods, something you can only do on snowshoes. A great day with good company.

It’s taken a while to get this posted. M and I went geocaching in the Bordertown/Dog Valley area, just inside California northwest of Reno. Found two caches on a nice day to be out.
