Tahoe-Pyramid Bikeway – Tracy
A new, short section of the Tahoe-Pyramid Bikeway was established this year near the Tracy power plant (NV Energy). The walk along the Truckee River is nice, although the surroundings are a bit industrial. Access from Waltham Way off I-80, 14 miles east of Reno.

Hidden Valley Park
Another evening wildflower hike, this time to Hidden Valley Park in southwest Reno. Featuring wildflowers and “wild” horses.

Sagehen Creek Meadow
An evening wildflower hike to Sagehen Creek Meadow with M. & G. It was too early this year for the blue camas at the same date in 2008, but there was a very nice display of yellow marsh marigolds.

Bently-Kirman Tract Trail
The Bently-Kirman Tract Trail is a new trail in the flats of Carson Valley. The trail is on a conservation easement on a working private ranch and is sponsored by the Carson Valley Trails Association and the Nature Conservancy. It would be hot in summer, but a nice walk for locals in late Fall , Winter, or early Spring. Good views of the Carson Range and access the Carson River.
Directions: From US 395, 5.5 south of US 50 south of Carson City, take Stephanie Way east, turn north on Heybourne Rd, then follow sign left (west) on an unimproved road to the trailhead parking.
